Marion, IN – Patriots Track & Field place three in the top-four at the mid-season meet. Lisa Voyles led the squad with an A-standard performance.

Voyles noted a very impressive performance yet again, crossing the finish line in the 5,000 meters as the second-best finisher. She completed the 25-lap race for the first time of her career in 18:17.47. The time edges an NAIA qualification for the sophomore in a second event this season, ranking 17th by 0.01 seconds.

At women's pole vault, Raegan Granville claimed her third straight top-three finish this season in as many appearances. The senior cleared through 3.27 meters with ease to match her last performance in the Troyer Center at Indiana Wesleyan, however was unable to clear the next mark.

On the men's side, rookie vaulter Tristan Petrey cleared a new career-best height of 4.50 meters in his second attempt. He had a slow start to the day, needing two attempts to clear every height and three for his previous best 4.35 meters. Petrey finished fourth overall, third among NAIA competitors. He sits at the edge of NAIA Championship qualification, tied for 16th in the NAIA.

Lauren McHan led three Patriot performances in the 3,000 meters, placing 12th overall with a time of 10:56.43. In her 2021 debut, Meredith Elstun clocked 11:12.76 in the 15-lap affair; Taylor warren followed her early season sub-six-minute mile run with a time of 11:34.24 in the 3,000 meters.

Alisa Bowling finished 11th overall in her first 600-meter appearance of the season. She clocked just short of a new personal best, 1:46.98.

In the mile, Jenna Grogan noted a time of 6:25.25 in her first appearance in the event this season.

Cumberlands return to Fort Wayne, IN on February 13 for the third time this season for the Indiana Tech Classic. Meanwhile, the distance team will likely split off as men's and women's cross country competes at the Winter Classic in Louisville on Saturday as well.
