#24 Patriots Women's Tennis Drops Match Against #1 Grizzlies

Lawrenceville, GA –  The #24 Patriots women's tennis faced their toughest opponent of the season so as they fell to the #1 Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies 7-0 Monday afternoon at the GGC Tennis Complex. After the loss, UC moves to 9-2 overall for the season.

The Grizzlies were able to sweep all doubles matches to take the 1-0 lead going into singles play.

Despite continuous hard-fought matches from the Patriots, Georgia Gwinnett would go on to also sweep singles play. Mikaela Fros was able to put up the best fight for Cumberlands at the #2 singles spot, but was defeated at 3-6, 2-6 to Tereza Koplava. Hana Shimeno would finish the day for UC at the #4 singles spot as she fell to Iryna Lysykh at 3-6, 1-6. With the score at 7-0 after both singles and doubles play, the Grizzlies walked away with the win.

The Patriots will return to the court on Thursday, March 25 to take on Georgetown at the UC Tennis Complex in Williamsburg, KY. First serve is set for 3:00 PM.
