Lexington, KY – With strong singles performances the #14 UC men's tennis team remains undefeated on the year after their 6-1 win against Indiana University East on Saturday evening. Following the win, the Patriots move to 6-0 on the year overall.

The #13 duo in Martin Barbier and Eric Banoub continued their dominant streak with a strong 6-2 win #1 doubles win against Adrim Martinez and Sebastian Torrealba. The Patriots would go on to drop the #2 doubles, but with Martin Muller and Robert Wu Hung-Ju coming up the rear with their #3 doubles win at 7-5 against Moises Goncalves and Max Faundez, UC grabbed the doubles point to take the early 1-0 lead. 

Keeping his undefeated #1 singles record alive at 6-0, Barbier showed-out as he beat Faundez in just two sets at 6-4, 6-2 which allowed Cumberlands to take the 2-0 advantage. At the #2 singles spot, Muller was able to bounce back from his loss on Thursday against Grace College with a three-set win against Manuel Roman 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 which put the Patriots up at 3-0. Luis Montull and Mattis Le Montagner also kept their undefeated streaks alive at the #3 and #4 singles, and ultimately grabbed the match win at 5-0, when they defeated Matthew Nel and Moises Sosa at 6-1, 6-1, and 6-1, 6-1 respectively. The Patriots would go on to also drop the #5 singles match, but Wu Hung-Ju finished the day off on a high note with a solid win at #6 singles against Torrealba to give UC the 6-1 match win.

 UC will return to the court on Sunday, March 7 to take on #23 Marian University at the UC Tennis Complex. First serve is at 1:00 PM.
