Williamsburg, KY- After commanding performances throughout singles and doubles play, The #14 UC men's tennis team ran through the Pikeville Bears with a 7-0 shutout. Following the win, the Patriots move to 13-2 overall and 6-1 in MSC play.

Cumberlands would go on to control all of doubles play as they swept the Bears in all three matches, which snagged the doubles point for UC and allowed them to go up 1-0 on the match.

Similar to doubles play, UC was able to dominate all of singles play. The first to finish was Martin Barbier, who took down Timur Chsherbakov in the #1 singles spot with a score of 6-1, 6-4, and extended the Patriots lead to 2-0. Luis Montull would be the next to finish in the #3 singles spot as he defeated Carlos Vilamizar at 6-3, 6-3, and kept Cumberlands out in front at 3-0.

Ultimately winning the match for UC at 4-0 was Martin Muller, who won his three-set battle against Juan Diego Alzate with scores of 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Mattis Le Montagner and Eric Banoub continued the stellar Patriots performance as they both grabbed two-set victories in the #4 and #5 singles spots with scores of 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-0 that propelled Cumberlands to a 6-0 lead. To finish the sweep out for UC was Robert Wu Hung-Ju as he routed Luis Gayoso at 6-0, 6-1, and let the Patriots take the 7-0 win.  

The Patriots will return to the court against #8 Union College at the UC Tennis Complex on Monday, April 5. The first serve is set for 2:00 PM.
