Williamsburg, KY – Continuing their hot streak from last Saturday's shutout, the UC men's tennis team posted another 7-0 sweep against Shawnee State on Wednesday evening. Following the win, the Patriots improve to 14-2 overall and 7-1 in MSC play.
With dominating performances throughout all of doubles play, Cumberlands was able to take all three matches and go up 1-0 on the match.
To start singles play, Martin Muller won by retirement in the #2 spot against Zayden Rinehart to put the Patriots up at 2-0 for the match. Luis Montull and Eric Banoub resumed the stellar play for UC in the #3 and #5 spots as they both posted two set shutout wins, which ultimately won the match for Cumberlands with the score at 4-0. The Patriots finished the day with three more two-set victories from Martin Barbier, Mattis Le Montagner, and Robert Wu Hung-Ju in the #1, #4, and #6 singles spots to take the 7-0 win over the Bears.
The Patriots return to the court on Thursday, April 8 to take on Cumberland University at 5:00 P.M. in Lebanon, TN.
