Pulaski, TN – Behind excellent play in their doubles and singles matches, The #14 UC men's tennis team ran through the Redhawks at 6-1 on Friday night. Following the win, the Patriots improve to 16-2 overall and 9-1 in MSC play.
As they have for the last three matches, Cumberlands was able to secure the doubles point with a sweep of the #1, #2, and #3 matches to take the early 1-0 lead.
Martin Barbier and Martin Muller were the first to finish for UC in the #1 and #2 singles spots as they both took commanding two set victories to keep the Patriots in the driver's seat at 3-0 for the match. C. De La Fuente ultimately won the match for Cumberlands at 4-0 as he defeated Juan Camilo Moreno at 6-3, 6-0. UC would go on to drop the #3 singles match, but picked up the slack in the #6 and #4 spots as Robert Wu Hung-Ju and Mattis Le Montagner defeated their competition in two sets and allowed the Patriots to walk away with the 6-1 win.
The Patriots return to the court on Thursday, April 15 to start the MSC Championships in Owensboro, KY.
