Tournament Results
Yorktown, IN – Jarryd Elliott improves on day two to lead the Patriots men's golf team to fifth place out of nine teams at the Players Club Invitational on Saturday. Across two rounds at the Players Club, Cumberlands carded a score of 605 (+29) to finish in the middle of the team leaderboard.
 
After shooting a round one score of 73 (+1), the sophomore from South Africa notched a final round score of 72 (E), to earn a tied for fifth place finish. Over 36-holes at the event, Elliott recorded a score of 145 (+1). Elliott caught fire during the final round as he notched six birdies overall with three of them coming on the front-nine and three coming on the back-nine.
 
Teammates Gustav Barden and Imanol Camba were able to earn top-15 finished as well, with both of them finishing tied for 13^th. Barden, the sophomore from Varmland shot a 76 (+4) on day two of the event to finish with a combined score of 151 (+7).  Camba shot his best round of the tournament on day one when he recorded a 74 (+2) for the 18 holes. He was able to hold on day two to finish with a combined score of 151 (+7) as well.
Jaime Crispi, who was competing as an individual, finished in 26^th after the final day of the tournament. His round one score of 75 (+3) helped him to hold on to finish within the top-30 of the tournament. His combined score after 36 holes was 155 (+11).
 
Juan Murube was able to improve on day two to finish tied for 32^nd in the tournament. He was able to improve his golf game by eight strokes on day two to shoot a 75 (+3). Through the 18 holes on day two, Murube was able to record four birdies, with three of those birdies coming on the back-nine. He was able to shoot a combined 36 hole score of 158 (+14). Luis Ruiz shot a combined two day score of 172 (+28) to round out the Patriots team score.  
 
Cumberlands will compete again on September 27 and 28 when they are set to travel to Johnson City, TN for the East Tennessee Collegiate tournament hosted by Milligan College.
