Louisville, KY – The Patriots took to the starting line at the Live in Lou Classic in Louisville, KY on Saturday. They came away with a 24
th place team finish out of 47 teams from all over the country.
Victoria Shedron was the first Patriot finisher on the day, placing 66
th with a time of 18:51.9. This was the Grad Transfer's second straight personal best finish in a row.
Ashlyn Liddle crossed the finish line ten spots behind her teammate for 76
th. She paced an 18:58.6 to tie her personal best.
Lauren Sanderson was the next finisher for UC as ran a 19:28.8 for 135
th. This was the sophomore's best performance of the season.
Ashley Terry and
Nevaeh Warren rounded out the Pats top-five scorers. Terry finished 199
th with a time of 19:59.2 while Warren paced a 20:02.8 for 207
th and a new personal best.
Two freshmen came across the finish next for UC.
Ella Henage completed her 5k in 20:05.5, her second consecutive PR performance.
Kate Golden paced a 20:20.7, over a minute faster that her last 5k.
Morgan Lucason and
Abriella Overholser were the final UC finishers, running times of 20:34.9 and 20:59.
The Patriots tallied 656 points from their five scorers for 24
th. Number two ranked Taylor placed first with 67 total points. Xavier and Grand Valley St rounded out the top-three with 111 and 121 points respectively.
Coach Sowder was proud of his girls today saying "We had several course bests, season best, and personal bests today for the program. We are moving in the right directions with our sights set for post season success."
Cumberlands are scheduled to race this Friday at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, NC.
