Koher, WI- The 21^st ranked Patriot men's golf team opened their third tournament of the 2022 Fall Season this afternoon at the Whistling Straits to compete in the Whistling Straits Championship in Koher, WI. After playing one round of 18, the team stands in first place with a combined score of 323 (+35), two strokes ahead of Taylor University who sits in second.

Leading the way for the Pats is freshman, Hampus Nilsson. Nilsson recorded a score of 79 (+7) with one birdie and 10 shots on par. He sits in second place, just one stroke behind behind Javan Johnson of Taylor University.

Right behind Nilsson is Jaime Crispi and William Ekeroth who are tied for third place. Each golfer carded a score of 81 (+9) during the first round of 18. Crispi also notched a birdie and had 10 shots on par. Ekeroth was able to notch 11 pars on the day, the most of any member of the team.

Rounding out the team score for UC is Gustav Barden and Imanol Camba. The two are tied for 6^th place with scores of 82 (+10) after the first round of 18 holes. Camba carded three birdies during his round, coming on holes 2, 13 and 14. Barden also notched a birdie on hole 2, and shot par on seven other holes.

Competing as an individual for The Cumberlands is Pedro Morgado. Morgado is at the top of the individual leader board, tied for 29^th place. Morgado notched one birdie during his round, on hole 10.

The Pats will hit the greens again tomorrow to finish the tournament with hopes of bringing home another 1^st place win.
