Bowling Green, KY – The Patriots volleyball team sees 15 players on the 2021 MSC Academic All-Conference team, announced on Tuesday morning by the conference office. A total of 111 athletes were named to the list. The Champion of Character was also announced, and
Kira Ervin claimed the award.
Of the 15 Patriots on the list,
Alyssa Carter,
Danielle Jackson,
Lexi Lester,
Emily Prewitt, and
Savanah Schwarz made their third straight appearance on the list.
While, Ervin,
Allyson Grava,
Sydney Reed,
Abigail Sparkman, and
Bryce Tucker make this honors list for the second time. Newcomers to the list this year are
Kendall Arnold,
Juliet Banks,
Hanna Browning,
Sydney Dalton, and
Tori Ellison.
Cumberland had the most honorees with 19, while UC had the second most with 15. Rounding out the top four programs is Georgetown with 14 and Lindsey Wilson with 13.
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.
The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
UC heads into the conference championships on Thursday November 10 as the 5th seed. The Patriots are set to play Lindsey Wilson at 3:00 CT & 4:00 ET in Bowling Green, KY.
