Richmond, KY - For the second time in as many contests, UC's men's tennis team posted a sweep with a 7-0 win over Midway Sunday at the EKU Tennis Courts. With the win, the Patriots move to 6-2 on the season while Midway moves to 0-1. 

Doubles play belonged to the Patriots with them winning all three matches. Cumberlands' top duo of Martin Barbier and Eric Banoub handled their assignment of Paul Wamba and Merlin Mazalto easily in their 6-0 win. Luis Montull and Mattis Le Montagner followed suit as Cumberlands' #2 tandem with a 6-2 while Hung-Ju Wu and Martin Muller finished things off with a 6-2 victory of their own. 

Singles play went just as well as for the Patriots with Barbier beginning things at #1 with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Paul Wamba to give UC a 2-0 lead. Martin Muller continued the run of strong play for the Patriots at #3 singles with his 6-2, 6-3 win over Midway's German Collado to make it 3-0 in favor of UC. 

Le Montagner had a challenge on his hands at #2 singles in the first set, but pulled it out with a 6-4 win before dominating 6-1 to take the match in straight sets at to extend the lead to 4-0 and clinch the match for the Patriots. 

Luis Montull then made it 5-0 with his win at #4 singles, winning 6-1, 6-2 with Christian de la Fuente Nodado following him up with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the #5 spot. Hung-Ju Wu rounded out the day for for Cumberlands with a strong performance of his own with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over the Eagle's Travis True. 

The Patriots will look to continue their stretch of strong play starting Friday, February 18th, when they travel to Lawrenceville, GA for the Grizzly Open at Georgia Gwinnett.
