The two teams traded buckets to open the game before consecutive layups from Lewis and Kassie Monday put UC in front 6-2 early in the first quarter.  The Patriots continued to lead over the next several minutes as Kaylie Monday found Destiny Haworth for a three-pointer extending their lead to 11-7 midway through the opening period.  Kassie Monday added a late layup, however, Freed-Hardeman scored the final four points of the quarter to take a 14-13 edge.

Reagan Floyd drained a three-pointer to spark a 7-2 run to open the second quarter extending the Lions lead to 21-15 with 7:26 left.  Cumberlands battled back with Lewis leading the charge as she pulled up and drained a three-pointer, before finding Kassie Monday for a breakaway layup.  Douglas added a layup as Lewis hit her second from behind-the-arc to even the score at 25-25 with 1:36 left.  Freed-Hardeman took a two-pointer lead, however, Kassie Monday drained a triple at buzzer to give UC a 28-27 advantage at the break.

The Patriots opened the third quarter with Kassie Monday dishing out three straight assists, while Douglas scored five straight to make it 35-27, two minutes in.  Just over a minute later Haworth drove and converted a layup to push the lead to double-digits at 40-29.  Freed-Hardeman went on a 10-2 run before Casey Coleman converted a three-point play to give the Patriots a 45-39 edge with 2:18 left.  Kassie Monday added four of Cumberlands final six points in the quarter to take a 50-43 lead into the final period.

Lillie Hall provided a spark in the fourth quarter with four points in just over a minute.  The teams traded baskets over the next several minutes until a Kassie Monday layup sparked an 8-0 run, that included four points from Douglas to extend the lead to 66-50 with 3:22 remaining.  Kassie Monday and Lewis combined for Cumberlands final five points for the 71-55 final.
