Winston Salem, NC – The Patriots women indoor track & field team posted another strong performance on day two of the Camel City Invite on Saturday. UC had multiple top-ten finishes and hit another national qualifying standard on the day.

Jullia Morris continued to shine in the triple jump, recording her third straight national qualifying "B" standard in this event, and a sixth place finish. After jumping 11.30m last weekend, Morris jumped even further at 11.35m for her best of the season. This is the third best score in the Mid-South Conference.

Summer Travis placed 15
th in the shot put after hitting 11.46m in her first throw of the day. Teammate
Delores Stevenson finished five spots behind Travis after throwing her shot put 10.73m.

Cora Stevens raced in the 800m run with teammate
Ashley Terry. Stevens recorded a 26
th place finish after crossing the finish line in 2:29.19, her fastest 800m race of the year. Terry finished at 2:33.47 for 33
rd place.

Lauren Sanderson and
Lydiah Strauel posted top-15 performances in the 1000m run Saturday afternoon. Sanderson finished 12
th after recording a time of 3:15.51 while Strauel finished in 3:18.47 for 14
th.
Nevaeh Warren and
Morgan Lucason were the final two Patriots in this event, finishing back-to-back for 17
th and 18
th. Â Â Warren posted a time of 3:26.39 and Lucason finished in 3:35.37.

The Patriots competed in the 3000m run for their final race of the day, sending
Meredith Elstun and
Kinsey Forgey to the starting line. Elstun ran her 3000m in 11:19.25 while Forgey posted a time of 11:27.75.

The Patriots track team will attend the Life University Indoor Qualifier on Sunday February 5
th where they will get a good look at some conference competition.
