UC Place 9th at USBC Sectionals

Smyrna, TN – The Patriots men's bowling team competed in the final day of USBC Sectionals on Sunday. Day two consisted of 32 baker style games for a total of 64 on the weekend. UC finished ninth out of 20 teams over the two-day event.
 
Coming into the day in tenth place, UC got out to a slow start and fell to 12th after the first 16 games Sunday morning. They bowled three games over 200 during this stretch and finished with a total pinfall of 2877.
 
The Patriots came out hot in the afternoon games, bowling  games of 215, 238, and 208 to start things off. They would bowl four more games above 200, tallying 3056 pins over the final 16 baker games. This was the fifth highest score of all teams in that stretch. Cumberlands late surge brought their tournament total pinfall to 11813, pushing them to a ninth-place finish.
 
SCAD Savannah swept the tournament, winning on both the men's and women's side. SCAD's men tallied 13054 pins for the victory. Indiana Institute of Technology placed second with a 12724 pinfall and Lendenwood finished third with 12448.
 
The Patriots will be back in action next week as they head to the NAIA National Championship in Sterling Heights, MI. Games are are set to begin Thursday March 24th.
