Bowling Green, KY- After winning his first collegiate tournament as a member of the UC men's golf team, Juan Murube captured Mid-South Conference Golfer of the Week honors, announced by conference officials on Monday.

The Seville, Spain native opened up the Blue Raider Invitational tallying his first birdie of the day, only needing four strokes to reach the pin on the 526-yard par five. Murube then followed that hole with his first of 13 pars on the round. Murube also added three birdies to his 13 pars. Through the first round, the senior carded a 69 (-1).

Round two was Murube's best round of the tournament, as well as his lowest round as a member of the Cumberlands men's golf team. The senior opened the round by recording back-to-back pars before tallying his first birdie of the round. The Seville, Spain native then notched four straight pars, before adding another birdie to his front nine score. On the back nine, Murube carded two birdies and five pars to finish one over par. The senior closed out the second round with his first eagle of the tournament, using only three strokes to reach the pin on the 526-yard par five. Over 18 holes, Murube carded a 67 (-3), which matched the second lowest round by any golfer at the tournament.

Round three started in similar fashion as round two, with Murube tallying back-to-back pars on his first two holes before recording his first birdie of the round. Through his final 18 holes, the Seville, Spain native recorded 14 pars, which was the most of any rounds at the tournament, while also adding a birdie. Murube finished with a round three score of 72 (+2).

Through the three rounds at the Blue Raider Invitational, Murube notched a final score of 208 (-2) to take first place at the tournament by one stroke. Over 54 holes, the senior tallied eight birdies, thirty-eight pars, and an eagle to finish with his best score across three rounds as a Patriot.

This is Murube's first weekly honor of the season, as well as the first MSC weekly honor of his career. This marks the second time a UC men's golfer has earned MSC Golfer of the Week this season.

Cumberlands returns to the course next week, as the head down to compete in the Monument Gold Oldfield Classic in Beaufort, SC on March 27 and 28.
