Kennesaw, GA – Cumberlands competed in six events on Saturday during the second day of the Don McGarey Invitational. The first event that the Patriots competed in was the pole vault. Trinity Sherrod posted UC's top performance of the day with an eighth-place finish in the vault. She cleared the bar at 3.00m for her scoring finish.
 
Hailey Martin just missed the top-10 in the 400m hurdles on Saturday. She paced a 1:10.35 time for 11^th place and was the lone Patriot in this event. Martin also raced in the 100m dash alongside teammates Jaida Reed and Morgan Bruin. Reed was the first UC finisher, sprinting across the finish line in a new personal best time of 13.22 for 21^st place. Bruin also ran a PR, finishing in 13.86 for 28^th. Martin placed 32^nd with a 14.14 finish.
 
Lauren McHan was one of seven Patriots in the 800m run.  McHan finished 15^th, rounding the track twice in 2:26.97. Lauren Sanderson placed 18^th with a time of 2:29.55. Ashley Terry paced her 800 in 2:32.36 for 22^nd while Lydiah Strauel placed 25^th (2:33.99), Nevaeh Warren placed 26^th (2:35.22), Meredith Elstun placed 27^th (2:35.34), and Taylor Warren placed 29^th (2:38.60).
 
The final track event of the meet was the 3k steeplechase. Samantha Connelly was the lone Patriot in this event, pacing a time of 13:30.01 for 12^th place overall.
 
Delores Stevenson was the final UC athlete to compete on Saturday. Stevenson entered the circle for the shot put and placed 17^th with a 10.45m throw in her third attempt.
 
The Patriots will return to the starting line next weekend as they head to Gainesville, FL for the Florida Relays. This looks to be one of the most competitive meets of the year for UC.
