Cumberlands Men's Golf Improves on Day Two for a Fifth Place Finish

Beaufort, SC- After the conclusion of the Monument Gold Oldfield Classic, the Patriots men's golf team finished in fifth place at the tournament. Through two days and 54 holes at the tournament, UC carded a team score of 913 (+49) which was five strokes ahead of sixth place.

Cumberlands highest finish on the individual leaderboard came from Gustav Barden who finished the tournament with a share of 12th place. On day two of the tournament, Barden tallied three pars on his first five holes to start his final round. Across 18 holes on day two, the sophomore carded 12 pars and two birdies. Through three rounds at the tournament, Barden carded a combined score of 223 (+7).

Teammates Juan Murube and Jaime Crispi both finished tied for 25th on the individual leaderboard. Across 54 holes at the Monument Gold Oldfield Classic, the Seville, Spain native recorded a three round score of 231 (+15), while adding 28 pars, seven birdies, and an eagle. The senior's lowest round came during round two of the tournament, where he tallied a 73 (+1) while recording his lone birdie of the tournament.

Crispi also finished with a three round score of 231 (+15). The freshman's lowest round can during round three of the tournament, where he carded a 72 (E) over 18 holes. Crispi began his final round by tallying a par and two birdies on three of his first four holes. Across 54 holes at the Carey Collegiate, the freshman recorded 24 pars and, a team high, 10 birdies.

The sophomore, Jarryd Elliott finished tied for 31st on the individual leaderboard. Over 54 holes at the tournament, Elliot carded a three round score of 232 (+16) while adding 26 pars, seven birdies, and an eagle. His lowest round of the tournament came in round three when he tallied a 74 (+2).


Imanol Camba shot his lowest round of the tournament during round two to notch a tied for 52nd place finish on the individual leaderboard. Over 54 holes at the tournament, Camba carded a combined score of 243 (+27). The Bilbao, Spain native tallied 28 pars and three birdies, which matches his most pars so far this spring.

The UC Men's Golf Team will be back in action on April 4 and 5 for the Spring Conference Tournament in Crossville, TN.
