Brookings, S.D. – The women's track and field team had a strong showing in multiple events on day two of the NAIA National Championships. The Patriots had 3 athletes compete in two events on Friday.
 
Jenna Grogan started the day off with a great performance in the 3,000m Racewalk. Grogan paced a time of 17:13:11 for a ninth place finish. This is just one spot away from an All-American performance, as the top-eight finishers receive this honor. Tara Todd also raced in this event for the first nationals experience as a Patriot. The junior crossed the line in 19:49.48, the second fastest finish in her career, for 16^th.
 
Summer Travis was the final Patriot to compete on Friday, as she made her first NAIA Nationals appearance in the weight throw. Travis placed 23^rd with a throw of 14.98m. The senior had a record setting indoor season, breaking the school record in this event, while also being the first female thrower in school history to qualify for nationals.
 
Cumberlands' Jullia Morris is the final Patriot set to compete this weekend, as she will be in the triple jump event Saturday morning. The event is set to begin at 10:00 AM CT.
