Bowling Green, KY – After a dominant performance in the 5k racewalk at the Pepsi UC Invite & Distance Carnival, Jenna Grogan was named women's track athlete of the week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon.
 
Grogan hit her first national standard of the outdoor season, cementing her spot in the championship race in Gulf Shores, AL later in May. The sophomore crossed the finish line in 28:28.24 for a new career best and a first-place finish, over a minute faster than the second-place finisher.
 
This was Grogan's first weekly honors of the outdoor season, and second overall as she was named athlete of the week once during indoor as well.
 
Jenna and the Patriots will return to the track this weekend as they head down to South Carolina for the Electric City Invite at Anderson University. Races are scheduled to begin Saturday morning at 9:00 AM.
