Cleveland, TN – Cumberlands traveled to Lee University for the final regular season meet of their 2022 campaign. The Patriots hit multiple personal records and had a national "A" standard on the day as well.
Jullia Morris had her best performance of the outdoor season in the triple jump competition. The senior leaped 11.91m for fifth place and an "A" standard. Morris also raced in the 100m dash prelims alongside teammate
Kathryn Hunter. Kathryn sprinted to a 12.41 finish for 16
th while Morris placed 21
st with a time of 12.60.
Lauren McHan had a good day at the track as she set a new PR in the 1500m run and competed in the 400m hurdles for the first time in her five-year career as a Patriot. McHan ran a 1500 time of 4:53.32 for 23
rd, and placed 14
th in the hurdles after finishing her lap in 1:10.854.
Lydiah Strauel competed in the 1500 also where she paced a 5:15.37 for 31
st.
Two UC runners took to the starting line in the 10k for the final time of their career on Saturday, both putting together career best performances.
Taylor Warren led the way as she finished 11
th with a time of 39:57.66.
Kinsey Forgey placed just two spots behind her teammate, finishing in 40:26.30.
Meredith Elstun also competed in her final race as a Patriot this weekend as well. She entered the 3k steeplechase and posted a time of 12:27.92 for 23
rd.
Ashley Terry was the lone Patriot in the 800m run. The freshman paced a 2:32.14 in her two laps around the track for 29
th.
Jaida Reed and
Morgan Bruin raced in the 200m perlims to round out the day. Reed sprinted her way to a 22
nd place finish in 25.80 while Bruin put together a career performance, finishing in 26.40 for 30
th.
Cumberlands will travel to Gulf Shores, AL for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships on May 25
th through the 27
th.
