Williamsburg, KY – UC finished runner-up at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Williamsburg on Monday evening. First-place finishes in the triple jump and the racewalk lead the Patriots to a team total of 138 points for the meet.
 
Jullia Morris earned the MSC title in the triple jump competition Monday afternoon. The senior's jump of 11.77m not only earned first-place, but hit an "A" standard as well.
 
UC's second win came from the 5k racewalk. Jenna Grogan continued her dominance, taking first place with a time of 29:20.20. Tara Todd placed second in the race, clocking a time of 31:41.15 while Isabelle Blatz had a scoring finish of seventh and a new PR of 36:56.46.
 
The 4x400 relay squad came away with a second place finish in the final race of the meet. Morgan Bruin ran the first lap with Ashley Terry taking over for the second. Lauren Sanderson ran the third leg before passing the baton to Cora Stevens to finish the job, crossing the finish line in 4:01.43. This was the team's best performance of the season. Stevens also raced in the 400m dash earlier in the day, where she finished fourth with a new personal best time of 59.20.
 
The final podium finish of the day came in the 400m hurdles. Hailey Martin raced around the track in 1:07.37 for second place and a new PR. Nevaeh Warren also scored for the Patriots in this event, placing eighth with a 1:18.61 finish. Martin put up another scoring performance in the 100m hurdles as she finished sixth, clocking a time of 15.93 for her second PR of the day.
 
The Patriots 4x100 relay squad hit an "A" standard time of 48.87 to qualify for nationals Monday morning. Jullia Morris ran the first 100m with Kathryn Hunter taking over for the second leg. Morgan Bruin was passed the baton next before Jaida Reed finished the national qualifying performance. The team finished fourth overall.
 
Three UC runners scored in the 1500m run, Lauren McHan leading the way with a fifth-place finish. The senior clocked a new personal record of 4:53.72. Lydiah Strauel and Meredith Elstun finished seventh and eighth with times of 5:07.75 and 5:09.40. Nevaeh Warren rounded out UC's runners with a 14^th place finish and a time of 5:18.60.
 
McHan also finished fifth in the 5k race later in the day. She paced a 19:12.65 as the Patriots first finisher. Taylor Warren ran a 19:28.04 5k to finish seventh while Kinsey Forgey placed eighth with a 19:52.81 time. Meredith Elstun was the final Patriot finisher, placing ninth in 20:02.19.
 
Paige Newby hit a PR mark of 1.49m in the high jump to take fifth-place. Mikkah Siler finished ninth after tying her personal best jump of 1.44m.
 
Delores Stevenson was the lone Patriot in the shot put. She placed sixth after a career high mark of 11.25m.
 
Cumberlands saw three runners hit career times in the 800m run this afternoon. Ashley Terry led the way with a sixth place finish and a time of 2:23.43. Lauren Sanderson crossed the finish not even a second later at 2:23.93 for seventh while Lydiah Strauel placed ninth in 2:27.99.
 
Jaida Reed finished eighth in the 200m with a personal best time of 25.55. Kathryn Hunter was the final Patriot sprinter to score on the day. She clocked a 100m time of 12.44 for an eighth place finish as well.
 
Life University took home the MSC banner as they scored 213 points for the win. Cumberlands tallied 138 points for second place with Campbellsville finishing third after totaling 122 points. Lindsey Wilson placed fourth with 120 while Cumberland (Tenn) scored 74 points to round out the top-five.
 
The Patriots will head south to Cleveland, TN in two weeks for the Lee University Last Chance meet. This will be the last competition before NAIA Nationals on May 25^th.
