Silvis, IL – Gustav Barden closed out the 2022 NAIA National Championships with a solid round to place 26
th overall in the individual standings, Friday afternoon at TPC Deere Run. The Karlstad, Vermland native carded a 74 (+3) over the final 18 holes to close out the tournament with a score of 287 (+3).
Barden opened the final round sinking a birdie on the par-five tenth hole. He added seven pars on the back nine to sit at even par at the turn. The sophomore carded five pars and the bogies on the front nine to finish the round with a three-over-par, 74.
The sophomore tallied 12 birdies and 45 pars over the course of the NAIA National Championships. Barden becomes the first Patriot since Ben Kendrick in 2018 post a top-30 individual finish at nationals.
Keiser's Jakub Stubhaug captured Medalist honors with a 276 (-8), while the Seahawks also captured the team title.
This concludes the Patriots season in which they won the Mid-South Conference tournament and earned an automatic berth in the NAIA National Championships.
