Patriots Set Program Record 12 Collegiate Academic All-American Honorees

Williamsburg, KY – The University of the Cumberlands archery team continues to shine on the range as well as in the classroom as they set a new program record with 12 USA Archery Academic All-American selections, it was announced yesterday by national officials.  In addition to that seven of the honorees are repeat winners of this distinction.

Leading the way for UC is Brooke Miller, who placed fifth overall at indoor nationals with a score of 1149.  Miller becomes the Patriots first four-time recipient of this award, while her 1149 is the fourth best score in program history.

Cumberlands had a quarter of honorees that have earned this in each of the last three years.  Madison Cox, Elliott Cross, Kaitlyn Shields, and Hannah Moose garnered are the three time recipients.  Cox won the national title in indoor and was named the MSC co-Shooter of the Year along with Shields.  Moose captured a 3D national title, while Cross is producing another great season.

Tanner Barker and Hunter Larese garner this honor for the second time in their career, while Aaron Adams, Hollyann Lewis, Ceridwyn Salyers, Lidia Quezada Villa, and Danielle Woodie are first time recipients. 

To be eligible the archer must finish in the top 25% of their class at indoor nationals and have a minimum of 3.50 GPA.

The Patriots captured the Mid-South Conference championship last month and are gearing up for USA Archery Outdoor Nationals May 19-21, in Chula Vista, CA.
