The UC women's wrestling team once again finished their season as one of the top wrestling teams in the country, finishing in eighth at the NAIA Invitational with a National Champion and four All-Americans.

Dymond Guilford won the 170-weight class at the NAIA Invitational, claiming UC's second straight individual title. Guilford went 4-0 at the tournament, outscoring her opponents, 21-3 with a pin.

Cumberlands tied for the most MSC Wrestlers of the Week in the conference with three. Chamira Cooper won once and Jesse Kirby won twice, where she was the first wrestler in MSC history to win the award in back-to-back weeks.

The Patriots rattled off four NAIA All-Americans, with both Alexis Medina (third place) and Kirby (fourth place) earning their highest finishes at the NAIA Invitational of their career. Guilford earned the honors from her first-place finish and Cooper earned fifth place in the 170-weight class, tying her finish from a season ago.

For the first time in Kirby's career she recorded 30 wins in a season, finishing with a 33-6 record on the year. Her 33 victories are the second most in a season for a UC women's wrestler in the top weight class, just three wins away from tying Toccara Montgomery.

As a team, UC finished eighth at the NAIA Invitational, racking up 83 team points. On the year, Cumberlands was ranked inside the top-eight in all of the Coaches' Polls with three different wrestlers being in the number one ranking throughout the season.

At the Mid-South Conference Championships, UC had four wrestlers take home honors, led by Kirby finishing in first place in the 191-weight class, going 3-0 on the day. Both Aliyah Yates and Guilford placed second and Elizabeth Dosado got third place. Also earning an award at the MSC Championship was Sarah Allen, who won Assistant Coach of the Year, in the award's inaugural season.

The UC women's wrestling team continues to succeed in the classroom, with a new program best 12 on the MSC All-Academic Team. For the third straight season, the Patriots took home the NWCA Scholar Athletes Team of the Year for the NAIA, with the highest team GPA in the country.
