Year In Review: Volleyball

The 2021 season for the UC volleyball team ended at the MSC Tournament and the team finished the season with a record of 20-11.

The Year In Numbers

Patriots came away with 13 3-0 sweeps this season. The sweeps came over Brescia, Fisk, Milligan, Asbury, Tennessee Wesleyan, Freed-Hardeman twice once in the regular season, and once in the MSC Tournament. As well as Pikeville, Bethel, St. Andrews, Union, Montreat, and Shawnee State.

Had 3 different win streaks. Two of the wins streaks spanned five games, and one of those streaks involved beating a team who was Receiving Votes. While one win streak lasted six games.

Two Patriots tallied over 200 kills this season. Lily Chapman led the way recording 366 kills to go over 1000 career kills, and Anna Blumeier was second on the team with 260 kills in her freshman year.

18 Academic All-Conference members Lily Chapman, Maddie Kosky, Olivia Pearcey, Rachel Scott, Ashley Sobocinski, Olivia Verdecchia, Savanah Schwarz, Lexi Lester, Emily Prewitt, Danielle Jackson, Alyssa Carter, Erica Webb, Bryce Tucker, Kira Ervin, Allyson Grava, Sydney Reed, Abigail Sparkman, and Cameron Taylor.

    In her freshman year, Juliet Banks recorded 510 digs. With her performance throughout the season, she earned     back-to-back MSC Defender of the Week awards and an All-Conference honorable mention honor.

Lily Chapman had a team-high of 12 double-doubles, with her best game against Georgetown as she tallied 24 kills and 16 digs. Chapman earned First-Team All-Conference honors for her performances.

Two Patriots tallied 70 or more blocks this season. The team was led by Emily Prewitt who recorded 77 blocks, and Danielle Jackson was right behind her as she tallied 70 blocks.
