Shawnee rallied to take set two despite a late comeback effort. Set three had a lot of back-and-forth action, with UC making a push late to take the set. With the score 14-14, Grava notched back-to-back kills. One play later Lackey and Blumeier notched a kill each to take a 18-15 lead and forcing SSU to take a timeout. Following the timeout, the Bears were able to tie the set at 21-21 and then take a 23-21 lead. UC was able to respond with kills from Grava and Ervin to tie the set at 23-23. Then a block from Grava gave UC set point and a setting error by the Bears gave the set to UC 25-23.

The fourth set opened with back-and-forth runs causing a close set through the opening stages of the set. Picking up on the action at 15-15, a Blumeier kill gave UC the 16-15 lead. After two SSU errors, the Bears would call a timeout. Following that timeout, UC would go on a 7-2 run to take the set. On that run, Blumeier notched three kills, while Ervin got an ace. Then a block by Schwarz and Jackson gave UC set and match point, and a Lackey kill gave the Pats the win.
