Bowling Green, KY – The Patriots sophomore trio led UC to a 5-0 week, and in turn swept this week's Mid-South Player of the week awards. Kendall Arnold won Setter of the Week, Juliet Banks won Defender of the Week, and Anna Blumeier won Attacker of the Week. This marks the first time since the week of 8/21/19 that Cumberlands swept the awards.

Setter of the Week

Arnold put in an amazing week to earn her first MSC award. For the week, she tallied 207 assists while averaging 10.89 assists per set. She also added 57 digs, eight kills, eight aces, and six blocks, while having three double-doubles. The Lebanon, TN native opened the week with a 30 assist game against Tennessee Wesleyan. She followed that performance with a 28-assist game against Ohio Christian. From there she tallied three straight double-doubles with at least 45 assists. In a four-set match against Bluefield, Arnold came away with 46 assists at 11.50 assists per set, while adding 15 digs and three aces to her totals. Then in a four setter against Bryan, Arnold came away with 47 assists at 11.75 assists per set, with 19 digs. Arnold saved her best for last as she notched a new career-high of 56 assists surpassing her previous high of 49 assists against Milligan. In that game, she also came away with 10 digs, two kills, and two aces.

Defender of the Week

Banks earned her third career Defender of the Week award after tallying 115 digs and 10 aces. The Scottsburg, IN native opened the week with a 21 dig, and four ace game at Tennessee Wesleyan. In the next outing against Ohio Christian, she came away with 16 digs and two aces. The rest of the weekend she finished with at least 20 digs in each game. In the next game against Bluefield, Banks came away with 24 digs and a kill. She followed that performance with a 34-dig game marking a new career-high against Bryan. Then to end the weekend, Banks had 20 digs and three aces in a win over Bluefield.

Attacker of the Week

Blumeier also set new career-highs while she led the Patriots offense with 87 kills at 4.58 kills per set. She averaged a .378 attacking percentage for the week. The Louisville, KY native started her week off with a 14 kill game at Tennessee Wesleyan. She followed that performance with a 11 kill game against Ohio Christian. In the next game against Bluefield, she set a new career-high of 20 kills that did not last very long as she broke that record two games later. In the following game against Bryan, the Sophomore tallied 18 kills. Blumeier ended the weekend with a new career-high of 24 kills in a five-set win against Bluefield. Blumeier was named to the All-Tournament team at the Cumberlands Invite as well.
