The tides turned in the 34' as Sasaki crossed the ball to Martinez, who fired a shot that deflected twice before finding a home in the back of the net to even things up at 1-1. The Patriots controlled the possession in their offensive side of the field, earning three corner kicks but could not convert keeping the score tied at 1-1 heading into the break.

Cumberlands held their lead for over 30 minutes behind a nice save from Diaz in the 74th minute of play. However, the Tigers did not back down, scoring the equalizer in the 86' minute to force overtime.

Sasaki did not wait long in the first half of overtime, scoring on his first shot in the 91st minute. Taro Fujioka made a run down the right flank and sent a cross into the box where Sasaki was waiting at the back post to score the goal.

GC was pouring on the pressure in the second overtime period forcing two shots. Diaz came up huge once again for his fourth and fifth saves of the night to retain the Patriots lead. GC had a free kick opportunity with eight seconds to play, but pushed the shot over the bar, and the final buzzer sounded with UC earning the 3-2 victory.
