West Palm Beach, FL – The #15 Patriots women's basketball team had three players in double figures and utilized a 12-point second quarter run to defeat Keiser 94-83 Sunday morning. With the win, UC improves to 9-3 on the year and its Head Coach

Kassie Monday led the way with a game-high 22 points to go along with 10 assists and six rebounds. It marks the first double-double of the season for the junior.
Destiny Haworth added 18 points, including hitting four three-pointers, while
Kaylie Monday chipped in 12 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.
LeeAnna McNulty and
Lakin Burke added eight points apiece.
Kaylie Monday opened the game with a steal and a layup to put UC in front early. Two minutes later, the Patriots scored three straight layups from
Amerah Steele,
Kassie Monday, and
Lakin Burke to put Cumberlands in front 8-6. Keiser went on a 5-3 run, before
Kassie Monday found Burke for a jumper making it 13-11 midway through the first quarter. Steele added five points as
Kylie Fultz netted the Patriots final four points of the period as UC took a 27-24 advantage.
After the Seahawks scored the first bucket of the second quarter, the Patriots went on a 12-0 run, over a four-minute span, to take a 39-26 lead. Haworth hit two from long range, while
Brittni Allison capped off the run a three-pointer. McNulty added four points while Haworth hit from behind-the-arc as UC took a 46-35 lead with 2:29 remaining. Keiser closed out the half on a 6-2 run as Cumberlands took a 48-41 run into the break.
Kaylie Monday and Steele each hit a jumper to open the third quarter extending the lead to 52-41 with 9:07 remaining. Keiser went on an 8-4 run over the next three minutes, however,
Kassie Monday hit back-to-back jumpers to give Cumberlands a 60-51 edge. The Seahawks went on an 8-2 run before
Kassie Monday netted four straight points as part of a 6-0 run to extend the lead to 68-59 with 2:11 remaining. The two teams traded baskets before
Kaylie Monday found
Victory Fredricks for a layup and added a layup over her own giving the Patriots a 73-63 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The two teams traded baskets over the first five minutes of the fourth quarter as
Kaylie Monday grabbed one of her five offensive rebounds and tipped it back in to make it 81-72 with 5:34 left. Haworth added a three-pointer before the junior connected with
Channing Lewis in the paint to give UC an 86-77 advantage with 3:42 remaining.
Kassie Monday added four points and an assists, while
Joy Kendrick connected with McNulty for a bucket in the final minute for the 94-83 final.
UC finished the game shooting 51.5% from the field and notched 22 assists as a team. They also out rebounded Keiser 37-33 in the game.
The Patriots will return to the court tomorrow, December 18, when they face St. Thomas as part of the West Palm Beach Classic. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m. with live video available
