Williamsburg, KY - The Patriots seemed to be well rested for their contest against Thomas More as they had yet another dominant performance to complete their eighth straight win in the 6-1 victory.
Mikaela Fros clinched the match as Cumberlands remain undefeated at home.
Meiri Okuwaki and Fros continued their strong play at the #1 spot in doubles play with them improving to 8-2 on the campaign with their second straight win. They ended up being the first to finish in doubles, and set the tone for the rest of the match by blanking Heidi Krane and Cassie Saner.
Marina Nagai and
Fan Shiau picked up their ninth win of the season playing together at #2 doubles with their victory, clinching the first point of the affair. They, like Okuwaki and Fros, had little trouble with their opponent with the duo grabbing the 6-0 win.
Tessa Gray and
Johanna Beckmann got the job done as the Patriots swept doubles play. Thomas More's Alexis Covington and Sydney Johnson traded leads with UC before Beckmann and Gray took the match 6-3.
Okuwaki picked up where she left off as UC's top singles player, defeating Convington in a convincing way, 6-1, 6-2.
Laura Prieto followed suit with a win of her own at the #2 spot, helping move UC further out in front. Prieto dominated her matchup throughout the contest on her way to the 6-2, 6-2 win.
The Saints got on the board with a win over Nagai at #3 singles. Although UC's freshman held the lead with a 7-5 win in the first set, she was forced to forfeit due to an injury, thus making the score 3-1.
With a win at #6 singles, Fros secured UC's 11
th win of the season by giving the Patriots a 4-1 advantage. The MSC Player of the Week won the first stanza 6-1, before taking the second set 6-0 to continue her perfect season in singles play.
UC continued to pour it on from there, winning both of the final matchups of the day to extend their win streak to eight.
Catherine Rae played as the #5 singles, where she controlled the match from the beginning and defeated Kimberly Sabga in two sets 6-4, 6-1. Shiau finished out the day for the Patriots by discarding Kane in a 6-0, 6-1 win.

With this win, Cumberlands moves to 11-1 on the season, and remain undefeated at home. The Pats will now have a week off before hosting RV Lewis-Clark State on Monday MArch 27th at 1:00 PM
