Williamsburg, KY – The Cumberlands women's tennis team fell to #18 Union 5-2 at the UC Tennis Complex on Tuesday.
Union started off strong taking the opening doubles match.
Marina Nagai and
Fan Shiau earned a solid 6-1 win at #2 doubles to even things up. The Bulldogs took a 7-5 win at #3 doubles to capture the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.
After the Bulldogs secured the first singles match, Nagai continued her successful outing with her second win of the day. The sophomore earned a solid 6-0, 6-4 win over Magdalena Skachova to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Pats dropped the next three singles matches to secure the victory.
Jirachavala Puckaporn captured one more win to finish the day for UC. Puckaporn defeated Anna Henriksen 6-2, 6-2 at #6 singles.
UC is back in action on February 24
th, as the Patriots host Milligan.
