Henderson, TN – The #24 Cumberlands women's tennis team earned a 7-0 shutout victory over Freed-Hardeman on Sunday.
The Patriots swept doubles play to gain the early 1-0 advantage.
UC earned a pair of dominant 6-0 victories at #2 and #3 doubles.
Marina Nagai and
Fan Shiau defeated Kennley Kirk and Elise Kruzan at #2 spot, while
Liu YuFang and
Jirachavala Puckaporn earned the victory over Savannah Corbitt and Marliemeke Thompson at the #3 spot.
Lucy Stojic and
Eva Cancarevic closed doubles play with a 6-3 win over Morgan Brown and Hannah Pearce at the #1 spot.
Nagai continued her successful day with a win in singles. The sophomore defeated Hannah Pearce 6-0, 6-2 at #2 singles, extending UC's lead to 2-0.
Cancarevic added a win at the #3 spot, defeating Morgan Brown 6-2, 6-0 to put the Pats up 3-0.
Stojic secured the win for UC at #1 singles, taking down Elise Kruzan 6-1, 6-3.
The Pats continued to thrive, capturing the last three matches to preserve the shutout victory.
Liu YuFang earned a victory over Kennley Kirk 6-2, 6-2 at #4 singles, while
Fan Shiau did not drop a game en route to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Savannah Corbitt at the #5 spot.
Jirachavala Puckaporn cemented the 7-0 victory for UC, as she also recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at the #6 spot.
