Columbia, KY – The #22 Cumberlands men's tennis team earned a solid 5-2 victory over #15 Lindsey Wilson to improve to 4-0 in conference play.
With the victory, UC earns the highest ranked win of the season.
The Blue Raiders opened the day sweeping doubles play to earn the early 1-0 advantage.
Killian Surmont picked up the first singles win for the Pats to even the score at one. The sophomore defeated Juame Barcelo in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
Liam Savio followed that up with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Miquel Perez at the #3 spot to give the Pats a 2-1 advantage.
The Blue Raiders took the next match at the #1 spot to knot the score at two.
Pierluigi Cruypenninck defeated Lucas Marques 7-5, 6-4 to put the Pats back on top 3-2.
Lucas Augotr secured the victory for UC, defeating Aldo Randazzo 6-4, 6-4 at the #6 spot.
Hung Ju Wu closed the day with a three set victory at the #5 spot. Wu defeated Anatoliy Voloshyn 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 to cement the 5-2 victory.
Cumberlands returns to action on Wednesday, March 27
th, hosting Lewis & Clark at the UC Tennis Complex.
