Williamsburg, KY – The #12 Cumberlands men's tennis captured its second consecutive Mid-South Conference regular season championship on Friday, as the Pats took down Bethel 6-1 at the UC Tennis Complex.

The Pats opened the day sweeping doubles play to gain the early 1-0 advantage.

Martin Muller and Hung Ju Wu picked up a 6-2 win over Javier Ferrada and Leonel Caspe at #1 doubles, while Billy Chiang Chia Chun and Killian Surmont and Pedro Donadon and Pedro Vecchi 6-3 at the #2 spot. Liam Savio and Gabriele Solda wrapped up doubles play with a 6-4 victory at the #3 spot.

Surmont continued his successful day with a dominant win in singles play. The sophomore took down Leonel Caspe 6-0, 6-1 at the #2 spot to put the Pats up 2-0.

Muller followed that up with a win in straight sets at #1 singles. The senior defeated Pedro Vecchi 6-4, 7-6 to extend UC's advantage to 3-0.

After the Wildcats picked up the next win at the #3 spot, UC battled back to clinch the win and MSC regular season title.

Savio picked up this win at the #4 spot, defeating Pedro Donadon 6-3, 6-2.

UC picked up a pair of victories in straight sets to close the day and cement the 6-1 victory over Bethel.

Pierluigi Cruypenninck defeated Lucca Nesi 6-1, 6-3, while Lucas Augotr defeated Arthur Farineau 6-2, 7-6 at the #6 spot.

The Patriots close the regular season with a 16-5 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play. Cumberlands heads into the Mid-South Conference tournament as the #1 seed, set to take place April 18-21^st.
