Results
Madisonville, KY – The Cumberlands archery team tallied eight podium finishes during head-to-head eliminations to win the 2025 Mid-South Conference Indoor Archery Championships Sunday afternoon at the Western Kentucky Archery Complex. The Patriots recorded 184 points and 20 podium finishes over the three-day competition as they have now won this event five consecutive years.
Marissa Harding, who was the top qualifier in the women's compound division followed it up by going 4-0 to notch UC's lone gold medal on the day. The Vestal, NY native won her first two matches of the day by a combined 18 points to reach the semifinals. Facing teammate
Lilie Aguilar, Harding carded three 30's and a 29 to rally in the final end for the 147-146 win. In the finals, Harding defeated Ava Noehre of Union 143-139 to finish atop the podium.
Lanie Nish defeated three of her teammates to finish the day with a 3-1 record to capture bronze, while Aguilar placed fourth in the women's compound division, scoring five points for the Pats.
UC had four archers place runner-up in their respective class.
Ceridwyn Salyers, the top-seed in women's recurve, opened with back-to-back 6-0 wins. Facing Bella Barrett (UPike), in the semifinals Salyers scored a 30 in the final end to notch the 6-4 win to advance to the finals before earning silver.
After reaching the semifinals,
Brodie Vinson jumped out to a 3-0 lead before winning a shoot-off to knock off top-seed Kyle Coffey (Union) in the semifinals of the men's recurve division. Vinson battled in the finals against Jack Dinapoli (UPike) but fell in a one-arrow shoot-off to earn the runner-up finish.
In the men's barebow division,
Tyler Woosley took down
Jonathan Morris 7-1 in the quarterfinals. The senior followed it up with a 7-3 win over Jonathan Stanley (Union) to advance to the gold medal match. Woosley earned silver after falling 6-2 in the finals.
Freshman
Hannah Summers had a strong day in the women's fixed pins division opening with a 149-142 win. Summers earned a 147-143 win over
Anna Jo Rush, before posting an 146-144 win over MaKenna Langley (Lindsey Wilson). Summers carded a 30 in the fifth end of the finals but it wasn't enough as she fell 149-146 to finish runner-up.
Tanner Barker (men's compound) and
Joseph West (men's fixed pins) both notched a 3-1 record on the day to earn bronze. Barker tallied a 148-146 win over Sergio Martinez (Union) in his bronze medal match, while West record a perfect score of 150 to defeat
Colton Caudill 150-147 for bronze.
Pikeville placed second in the team standings with 147 points, while Lindsey Wilson notched 117 points to finish third. UC has now won both the 3D and Indoor legs of the overall MSC Championships to extend their lead on top of the overall team standings with 20 points.
The Patriots will return to the range on February 1
st-2
nd when they travel to Owensboro, KY to compete in the USA Archery Indoor Nationals.
