Williamsburg, KY – After being a key part of the Patriots success at 3D Nationals, archers Lanie Nish and Chase White have been named the Pepsi Athletes of the Week, the athletic department announced Monday.
Lanie Nish earned athlete of the week honors after scoring points in all four division, including a trio of podium finishers. Nish carded a 472 with 24 bonus rings to finish runner-up in the women's compound division. The sophomore teamed with Sierra Sands and Savannah Hoffman to go 3-0 and captured the women's compound team national title. Nish also paired with Blaine Kostrzewski to earn a national runner-up finish in the mixed compound division. She closed out nationals scoring points in the mixed equipment division, and was vital to the Pats earning second place as a team.
Chase White earned athlete of the week honors after a pair of podium finishes, including a national title. White carded a program record 381 over the 40 arrows to sit atop the leaderboard. The freshman added 28 points during the three-arrow shoot-off to capture the national title. It is just UC's second individual men's barebow national title and the first since 2023. White pair with Lauren Oosterbaan to card a 714 to earn a runner-up finish in the mixed barebow division. He closed out the tournament scoring points during the men's barebow team rounds.
