                     Williamsburg, KY – With the fall crossover season upon us, Patriot fans are seeing fall sports positioning themselves for postseason runs, while winter sports have hit the ground running.  Throughout all that success one team has stood out amongst a loaded field as the Cumberlands volleyball team captures Brick Oven Team of the Month honors for October, announced by the athletic department Monday.  The University of the Cumberlands Athletic Department in conjunction with their corporate partner the Brick Oven are presenting the "Brick Oven Team of the Month", which will be awarded to one Patriot team each month.
 
Cumberlands remained unbeaten on the month posting a 12-0 record, including a perfect 7-0 mark in MSC matches.  Over the course of October, the Patriots notched 11 3-0 sweeps and have outscored their opponents 36-1 during that span.   UC opened the month with a road win at Cumberland, before returning home against Bethel & Freed-Hardeman.  The Patriots returned to the road for three of their next four matches for wins over #24 Lindsey Wilson and (RV) Aquinas to remain undefeated.   The Patriots closed out the month with four sweeps, including the 3-0 win against the Phoenix.  Those performances helped Cumberlands secure their first Mid-South Conference regular season championship, while improving to 29-0 overall on the year.
 
The Patriots attack is hitting a NAIA-best .337 on the season with a balanced approached.  
Sara Zampedri and 
Brynnley Bryant have anchored UC's attack throughout the season.  Zampedri totaled 115 kills, averaging 3.48 kills/set, to go along with 88 digs and 32 aces, while Bryant notched 100 kills and 81 digs.  
Kara Gipson has notched 78 kills, while hitting .610 on the month along with 29 blocks.  Anchoring UC's attack has been 
Savanah Jolly, who has dished out 281 assists to go along with 82 digs.
 
Davey Slaughter leads UC's defensive charge with 139 digs, averaging 3.97 digs per set.  
Alana Shiery has had a breakout season recording a team-high 39 blocks to go along with 64 kills.  
Autiana Wilson has tallied 64 digs and 9 aces, while Kendall Yarbor has hit 12 aces on the month.
 
Cumberlands will return to the court on Tuesday, November 4
th, for their regular season home finale against IU Southeast.  First serve is set for 7 p.m.
