Patriots Men’s Golf Tie for Eighth at Competitive Music City Collegiate

Dickson, TN - The RV University of the Cumberlands men's golf team wrapped up play at the Music City Collegiate, hosted by Cumberland University at the Greystone Golf Course. The rainy two-day, 36-hole tournament featured a competitive 19-team field composed entirely of NAIA programs. The Patriots turned in a steady performance, finishing tied for eighth overall with a team score of (+1).  

Leading the way for UC was Alexei Butchart, who fired rounds of 72 (E) and 71 (-1) for a total of 143 (-1), placing 24th overall. Butchart tallied five birdies across the tournament to pace the Patriots. 

Pedro Morgado was close behind, recording consistent even-par rounds of 72 to finish at 144 (E) and 29th place. Morgado's steady play was highlighted by nine birdies over two rounds. 

Saran Jantratit and Eli Fischer each finished tied for 37th after posting totals of 145 (+1). Jantratit turned in rounds of 72 (E) and 73 (+1) with four birdies, while Fischer collected seven birdies behind scores of 73 (+1) and 72 (E). 

Lorenzo Fiato rounded out the team scoring with rounds of 78 (+6) and 76 (+4), totaling 154 (+10) and three birdies for the tournament. 

Competing individually, Theo Andersson delivered one of the tournament's standout performances. After opening with an even-par 72, Andersson caught fire in round two, carding a 66 (-6) to finish at 138 (-6) and tie for second overall. His scorecard included 10 birdies and an eagle, marking one of the strongest individual finishes of the event. 

The field featured several nationally ranked teams, including No. 4 Dalton State (Ga.), who claimed the team title, No. 1 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) in second, and No. 25 Northwestern Ohio in third. Additional ranked programs included No. 21 Point (Ga.) in fourth, No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan tied for fifth, No. 14 Marian (Ind.) tied for eighth, No. 22 Campbellsville (Ky.) in 11th, RV Cumberland (Tenn.) in 12th, and RV Tennessee Wesleyan in 16th, emphasizing the high level of competition throughout the event. 

UC will return to action October 13-14 at the Gibson Bay Invitational, hosted by Lindsey Wilson University in Richmond, Kentucky.
