Greencastle, IN – The Cumberlands women's swimming & diving team posted 13 national cuts and four wins to close out their two-day dual meet against DePauw Saturday afternoon.  The Patriots closed the gap but came up just short falling to the Tigers 177-175.

UC opened the day with Sarah Zoellner, Megan Schoenlein, Bella Hoare, and Ugne Takuseviciute teaming up to post a season-best time of 1:49.54 for the 200 medley relay.

It was all Patriots in the 200 breaststroke as UC had the top four finishers.  Helena Jarosz led the charge for Cumberlands clocking a winning time of 2:25.60.  Schoenlein and Moa Nyblom went 2:25.88 and 2:26.99, respectively, to finish second and third, while Lauren Cox rounded out the Pats swimmers clocking a 2:33.56.  Jarosz, Schoelein, and Nyblom now hold the third, fourth, and fifth fastest times in the NAIA this season.

Jarosz and Schoenlein followed up the 200 breast by clipping the provisional cut in the 200 IM finishing in 2:09.09 and 2:13.74, respectively.

Juliana Lopez Morales earned her second win in two days this time touching the wall in 5:07.12 to win the 500 free.  That time is the second fastest time in the NAIA this season.  Teammate Mara Ellerkamp clocked a 5:21.18, which clipped the NAIA provisional cut.

Hoare led a trio of Patriot swimmers in the 100 fly.  The freshman pulled away from the field to post a winning time of 58.18, which ranks fourth in the NAIA.  Filippa Malmstrom (59.31) and Sarah Zoellner (59.79) both hit provisional cuts.

Morgan Schraudner collected the final win of the meet, tallying a 175.95 on the 3-meter board.

UC earned a pair of NAIA provisional cuts in the 100 free led by Takuseviciute, who clocked a 52.93.  Victoria Niska went 54.66, while Celin Ullern touched the wall in 55.25.

Cumberlands returns to the water Friday, November 7, when they return home for a dual meet against Asbury.  The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m.
