Bowling Green, KY – Cumberlands freshman
Alexander Poulsen has continued his strong campaign earning MSC Swimmer of the Week honors for the third time this season. Poulsen captured five school records, seven meet records, and seven wins at the Speedo Centre Invite last week.
Poulsen opened the week by clocking a 19.69 to win the 50 free. That time was a new Patriots school record and is the third fastest time in the NAIA this season.
The Birkerød, Denmark native followed that up by winning the 100 fly, touching the wall in 47.76, and the 100 free with a time of 43.57. Both of those times were school records and are the fastest times in the NAIA this season.
In addition to his individual success, Poulsen was pivotal to four Patriot relay wins, including the 200 free relay (1:20.06) and the 400 free relay (2:56.39) that broke both the meet and school records. UC is ranked either first or second in the NAIA in all four of those relays.
This wraps up the 2025 portion of Cumberlands schedule. The Patriots will return to the water on Friday, January 9th, when they travel to Boiling Springs, NC to face NCAA DI Gardner-Webb.
