Henderson, TN – The 10th-ranked Cumberlands Volleyball team capped off a historic regular season with another dominant performance, sweeping Freed-Hardeman 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-22) Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Patriots finish the regular season undefeated at 32-0 overall and 12-0 in Mid-South Conference play, marking the first perfect regular season in program history. 

UC hit .255 as a team with 35 kills while holding the Lions to a .185 hitting percentage. Brynnley Bryant led the balanced attack with 10 kills, one ace, and seven digs, while Kara Gipson hit .700 with eight kills and two blocks. Alana Shiery added five kills and five blocks, and Elaina Fischer notched five kills and four block assists. 
 

Setter Savanah Jolly directed the offense with 26 assists, four digs, and an ace. Sara Zampedri contributed six kills, five digs, and an ace, while Davey Slaughter anchored the back row with 13 digs and three aces. The Patriots tallied eight aces and 12 total blocks as a team in the victory. 
 

Cumberlands set the tone early in the first set, hitting .292 and using a 9-1 run behind Slaughter's serving to open up a commanding 20-10 lead. UC closed the frame on a block from Shiery to take it 25-14. 
 

The second set was more competitive, as the teams traded points through 14-14 before kills from Bryant and Fischer sparked a 6-2 Patriot run. Zampedri added a key kill late to close out the 25-22 win.  
 

In the third, Freed-Hardeman pushed early, but UC answered with strong defense and a balanced attack, with Fischer, Gipson, and Bryant combining for 10 kills to seal the 25-22 sweep. 
 

With the win, Cumberlands wraps up its regular season with a perfect 32-0 record and its first 12-0 finish in MSC play. The Patriots will now shift their focus to the Mid-South Conference Tournament next week where they will be the top seed as they look to continue their undefeated run into postseason play.
