Williamsburg, KY – The #18
th-ranked Patriots women's basketball team had multiple season-high's as Cumberlands utilized strong runs in each quarter to earn the 103-66 win over Washington Adventist Tuesday night on Randy Vernon Court. With the win, UC improves to 10-1 on the season.
Joy Kendrick paced the way for Cumberlands with a career-high 25 points on 10-12 shooting.
Zaram Fredricks notched her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and a pair of blocks.
Lakin Burke went a career-best 7-7 from the charity stripe and finished with 15 points and eight boards, while
Amy Thompson added a season-high 13 points.

Joy Kendrick on the wing for a three-pointer on the first possession of the game. Washington Adventist went on a 9-4 run before
Zaram Fredricks sank a jumper to even the score at 9-9. The Shock scored five straight points before UC added back-to-back buckets from Kendrick and
Amy Thompson to cut the deficit to 14-13 midway through the first quarter. A few minutes later,
Darcie Anderson drained a three-pointer, while Thompson added a putback giving UC an 18-16 advantage. Cumberlands continued to crash the offensive boards and extended their lead behind a
Peyton Mounce three-point play before Kendrick hit her second three-pointer making it a 28-18 lead after the first quarter.
Washington Adventist opened the second quarter on a 10-2 run to pull within two points, three minutes in. Cumberlands responded with a 15-0 run, that spanned three minutes and included Burke and Fredricks accounting for nine points making it 45-28 with 3:08 left.
Mackenzie Babb give the Patriots a spark off the bench draining a three-pointer before connecting with Burke for a layup and grabbing a pair of rebounds as UC took an 53-38 lead into the break.
Just over a minute into the third quarter, Burke added an offensive rebound and putback before Babb hit from behind-the-arc making it 58-40 with 8:36 remaining. The two teams traded baskets over the next several minutes until Fredricks grabbed an offensive board and putback for her fifth double-double of the season giving Cumberlands the 66-49 lead. UC closed out the quarter on a 13-2 run, featuring four points from Thompson and capped off by an Anderson layup as they took the 79-51 lead.
The two teams traded baskets in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, before Kendrick and
Jaydyn Carrico added back-to-back fastbreak layups to push the lead to 88-58. Babb added three points to spark an 8-0 run, which put UC over the century mark on a Mounce putback as Cumberlands earned the 103-66 win.
UC returns to the court Thursday, December 4, when they travel to Portsmouth, OH to face (RV) Shawnee State. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
