Williamsburg, KY - The #16 Cumberlands Men's Tennis team earned their second straight shutout victory, defeating McPherson to improve to 9-6 on the season.
The Patriots earned two of the three doubles matches to capture the early 1-0 advantage.
Darius Kuster and Gabriele Solda defeated Arthur Nardy and Jayson Wasserfuhr 6-0 at the #2 spot, while Sampras Rakotondrainibe and Manuel Fernandez Guede earned a 6-3 win over Texas Ranger Schmidt and Simon Delgadillo at #3 doubles.
Liam Savio continued that momentum into singles play with a 6-1, 6-4 straight-set victory over Arthur Nardy at #1 singles, giving UC a 2-0 advantage.
Juanchi Alcon followed that up with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Oscar Brouwer at the #2 spot, extending the lead to 3-0.Â
Luis Marcos secured the overall win for the Pats, defeating Celien Botlan 6-4, 6-4 at the #3 spot.Â
The Patriots preserved the shutout victory, taking the final three matches in convincing fashion.
Gabriele Solda earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Jayson Wasserfuhr at #4 singles, while Pierluigi Cruypenninck defeated Simon Delgadillo 6-0, 6-1 at the #5 spot.Â
Darius Kuster closed the day for the Pats with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Balazs Temesvari at the #6 spot.Â
Cumberlands will return to the UC Tennis Complex tomorrow as they host Freed-Hardeman for their Mid-South Conference opener.
