The junior averaged 23.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 1.8 spg on the season, shooting 48.1% from the field and 34.5% from three (69-200). Johnson also exceled at getting to the charity stripe where he knocked down an NAIA best 214 FT's, the most of any Patriot in a single season.
The Midfield, AL native scored over 20 points in 23 games, and finished the year with 11-straight 20+ performances. Johnson netted a season-high 36 points in the win over Freed-Hardeman and recorded a pair of double-doubles as well.
Anthony etched his name in the Patriot record books in multiple categories including the most made free throws in a season (214), top-10 in free throws made in a career (295), third most points in a season (779), and top-10 all-time in career steals (104) while also becoming the 38th player to join the 1000-point club at Cumberlands.
"Anthony Johnson had an incredible year for us on the court during the 24-25 season. From our first game, through MSC play, and into both the conference and national tournament he was one of the most dominant and consistent players in the NAIA," said Patriots Head Coach Matt Daniel. "Pig has been blessed with a lot of God given ability, but he has also worked tirelessly to become the player he is today. I am happy for him to be recognized as one of the best players in the NAIA and am excited to see how he continues to grow and develop as a player and a person."
The Patriots finished the season as MSC Regular Season Champions for the second straight season and won their second consecutive NAIA First & Second Round Championships to advance to the NAIA Final Site. In the Round of 16, Johnsons cored a game high 32 points while adding seven rebounds and three assists.
He is the sixth Patriot to earn First-Team All-American honors and gives UC their second first-team nominee in two years. This is just the third time in program history that Cumberlands have earned First-Team All-American honors in back-to-back seasons.
Johnson adds First-Team honors to an already prestigious list of awards including MSC Player of the Year, 2x MSC First-Team, 7x MSC Player of the Week, and NAIA Player of the Week.
