Williamsburg, KY – The Cumberlands archery team tallied a Mid-South Conference record 230 points, including ten first place finishes, to capture the 2025 MSC Outdoor Championships Saturday afternoon at the UC All-Purpose Field. In addition, the Patriots captured their seventh straight overall Mid-South Conference title after sweeping all three phases.
In addition to the team success, the Patriots garnered five top awards for their success throughout the season. UC's men's compound archer
Tanner Barker was named the MSC Men's Archer of the Year. Cumberlands swept Freshman of the Year honors as
Hannah Summers (fixed pins) and
Brodie Vinson (recurve) garnered these awards. Patriots Head Coach
Kris Strebeck was voted the MSC Coach of the Year for the fifth straight year, while for the fourth consecutive season
Caleb Kirby was named the MSC Assistant Coach of the Year.
In the head-to-head elimination today, UC recorded 14 podium finishes including capturing five conference titles. The Patriots swept the podium in both the women's compound and the men's fixed pins divisions.
In the women's compound division it was
Marissa Harding who captured the gold medal after posting a 4-0 record. The senior won each of her first three matches by at least seven points, before knocking off teammate
Sierra Sands 140-138 in the finals. Sands, who entered as the fourth-seed, knocked off teammates Savanah Hoffman and
Danielle Woodie to earn her first individual podium finish. Woodie notched a 3-1 mark and defeated Ruthie Masengale 140-129 in the bronze medal match.
Top-seed
Colton Caudill swept through the men's fixed pins match en route to a first place finish. After winning his first match, the senior needed a one-arrow shoot-off to defeat Nate Harper (UPIKE). Caudill edged out Tate Jobe 143-142 before defeating
Jackson Ratajczak 144-139 in the finals. Ratajczak won his first three matches, including a one-arrow shoot-off over
Jaden Taylor to finish runner-up. Taylor captured the bronze medal with a 139-137 win over Jobe.
Cumberlands posted three of the top four finishers in the men's compound division.
Isaac Sullivan notched a 4-0 record, including wins over
Landon Standish and
Blaine Kostrzewski to finish atop the podium. Kostrzewski, who entered as the tenth-seed, knocked off the seventh, two, and sixth-seed in a run to the finals.
Landon Standish placed fourth to earn five points for the Patriots.
Tyler Woosley picked up his second tournament win in as many days after finishing atop the podium in the men's barebow division. After winning his first match, Woosley rallied to defeat Johnathan Stanley (Union) 6-5, to advance to the semifinals. The senior posted a 6-0 win over Thomas Ramsey (LWC) in the finals. Teammate
Keaton Starks went 2-2 on the day to place fourth.
UC had a pair of top-four finishers in the women's fixed pins division.
Hannah Summers posted a 4-0 record including a 143-136 win over Carrie Booth in the finals to capture gold.
Hollyann Lewis earned five points after tallying a fourth place finish.
Cumberlands had a pair of podium finishes in the women's recurve division.
Brianna Laux notched a 3-1 record to earn a runner-up finish with all three wins by a 6-0 decision.
Lidia Quezada earned the bronze medal after defeating Bella Barrett in the finals.
Kennedy Sumpter notched a silver medal in the women's barebow division after a 3-1 record, while
Kevin Wilkerson notched UC final podium finish recording a third place finish in men's recurve.
Cumberlands led the way with 13 MSC All-Conference archers, including eight First Team honorees. Earning First Team honors were

Tyler Woosley,
Kennedy Sumpter,
Colton Caudill,
Jaden Taylor and
Hannah Summers. Earning Second Team honors were
Brodie Vinson,
Ceridwyn Salyers,

Lanie Nish, and
Hollyann Lewis.
The Patriots will return to the range on Thursday May 15, when they travel to Lansing, MI to compete at the USA Outdoor Archery Championships.
