Williamsburg, KY – The UC Men's Tennis team collected a 4-0 shutout victory over (RV) Missouri Baptist on Saturday morning at the UC Tennis Complex. Cumberlands moves to 13-6 on the season and have won 11 straight.
The Pats opened the day taking the first two doubles matches to capture the early 1-0 advantage. Liam Savio and Juanchi Alcon secured the first doubles win, defeating Luca Ebenriter and Sebastian Junghanns 6-4 at the #1 spot. Pierluigi Cruypenninck and Sampras Rakotondrainibe secured the point with a 6-4 win over Lucas Kzam and Filip Petrovic at #3 doubles.
Savio continued his successful day with a hard-fought singles win. The graduate student defeated Luca Ebenriter 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 at the #1 spot to put the Pats up 2-0.
Alcon followed that up with an identical 6-2, 6-2 win at the #2 spot. Alcon's victory came over Strahinja Radanovic to extend the UC lead to 3-0.
Luis Marcos secured the win for the Patriots with another singles win for UC. The sophomore defeated Sebastian Junghanns 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at the #3 spot, sealing the 4-0 victory.
Cumberlands will return to the courts on Tuesday April 8th as they hit the road to take on Campbellsville for an MSC contest.
