Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots men's & women's swimming and diving programs are coming off a top-five finish at the NAIA National Championships along with capturing the Mid-South Conference championship. Cumberlands continues to be a shining example for student-athletes achieving tremendous success both in the water as well as in the classroom.  Last week UC had 29 student-athletes named a CSCAA Scholar-All-America.

Cumberlands 29 selections are the third most by any NAIA team this season and UC is just one of just three NAIA schools with at least 28 honorees joining the NAIA national champion Keiser and Milligan.

UC accounted for 29 of the 205 NAIA student-athletes that garnered this honor.  For the second consecutive year, the Patriots men's swimming & diving team had 16 honorees led by MSC Swimmer of the Year and six-time All-American Ruthiik Satti. Zsombor Bene, Leon Irmer, Arda Mutlu, Marcelo Rojas, and Agustin Rasche each captured multiple NAIA All-American accolades. Marcos del Vado Sanz, Creed Farthing, Will Gilbert, Jeremiah Koenig, Nikita Konovets, Jan Lucow, Josh Riegler, and Sergio Saldamando Martinez were first team selections.  Elijah Henry and Arvid Kvorning were second team honorees.

The Cumberlands women's team is highlighted by seven-time NAIA All-American Sarah Zoellner and two-time NAIA national runner-up Michelle Weiss. Joining the duo on first team were Madeline Barbee, Isabella Cooksey, Mara Ellerkamp, Judit Garreta Yuste, Kate Harrison, Filippa Malmstrom, Abbey Richardson, Ashley Schoenlein, Megan Schoenlein, Ugne Takuseviciute, and Celin Ullern

In total over 2,700 swimmers and divers from across the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA were recognized with this honor.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship.  Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
