WILLIAMSBURG, KY – The Patriots closed out competition at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite on Saturday with a school-record performance in the 4x400-meter relay and several strong efforts across the sprints and distance events on day two of the meet.
UC's top performance of the day came in the 4x400-meter relay, where the quartet of
Abia Kante,
Lillian Guzman,
Alex Cundiff, and
MaQuoia Raglin combined to run 3:55.96. The time matched the NAIA B standard and set a new school record for the Patriots, marking a major highlight to close out the meet.
The Patriots also advanced three athletes into the semifinals of the 60 meters.
Ritorion Vigne led the group with a time of 7.74, followed closely by
Abia Kante at 7.77.
Allie Bryson rounded out UC's entries in the event by crossing the line in 7.98.
UC added five competitors in the mile run to close out individual events on day two.
Hope Boa paced the Patriots with a time of 5:37.53, followed by
Anslee Crosby at 5:38.81.
Jasmin Ponce crossed the line in 5:48.47, while
Baylee Black finished in 5:56.86 and Rylee Schnaffer closed out the event with a time of 5:59.28.
The Pats will return next weekend where they will head south to Alabama for the UAB Green and Gold Invite.
