Campbellsville, KY – The sixth-ranked Patriots fell behind early and couldn't rally as they fell to Campbellsville 4-0 Thursday night. With the win, the Tigers improve to 8-1-2, while the Patriots move to 5-2-3.
The Tigers looked for an early strike putting a shot on frame, however,
Morgan White jumped and made the save to keep the match scoreless. Campbellsville continued to apply pressure rattling off four shots, the last of which was saved by White in the 6'. Cumberlands pushed the ball up field as Nicole Aruajo and
Samantha Sokolove each tallied shots, before White made her third save of the match. The Tigers struck first in the 19' with a goal from Fiona Jolly to give them a 1-0 lead. Campbellsville added a goal in the 30' to extend their lead to 2-0. UC added a pair of shots on frame in the closing minutes however, couldn't convert trailing 2-0 at the break.
Cumberlands came out of the break aggressive, tallying a trio of shots in the first ten minutes but were unable to convert. The score remained 2-0 until the 71' when the Tigers added a goal to make it 3-0. A minute later,
Evelyn Saldivar put a shot on frame which was saved. Campbellsville tallied a goal in the 78' for the 4-0 final.
The Patriots will return to the pitch Thursday, October 8
th, when they return home to face #22 Cumberlands. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. with live video available
