Bosca Records Braces in 2-0 Win over #23 Life

Williamsburg, KY – Laura Bosca tallied her first career brace as the sixth-ranked Patriots took down #23 Life 2-0 Wednesday afternoon at the UC Soccer Complex.  With the win, UC improves to 8-2-3 on the year.

Bosca netted a pair of goals, one in each half, for her first career multi-goal game.  Lucia Domingo Porcel and Letizia Traversone picked up assists.  Cumberlands outshot Life 22-3 in the match as the Patriots backline of Samantha Sokolove, Noa Amado Sanz, Vlada Milovic, Abigail Little, and Morgan White combined to hold the Running Eagles scoreless for the first time this season.

UC was aggressive from the opening whistle as Ines Martin Garcia put a free kick on frame, which was punched over the crossbar.  The Patriots tallied five shots and a trio of corner kicks over the next eight minutes, however, couldn't convert.  Life's best chance came in the 10' as Louise Martineau put a shot on frame, which was cleaned up by White.  Cumberlands tallied six shots and a pair of corner kicks over the next 30 minutes as match remained scoreless.  The Patriots broke through late in the first half as Domingo Porcel steps in front of pass and sent the ball forward to Bosca, who got behind the defense and slotted a shot towards the near post for a goal.  It marked Domingo Porcel's first assist of the season and gave UC the 1-0 lead with 1:02 remaining.

The two teams traded shots in the opening minute of the second half.  Cumberlands extended their lead in the 56' as Traversone ran a give and go with Evelyn Saldivar, before pushing the ball into the box. Traversone then sent the across the box where Bosca tipped it in, extending the lead to 2-0.  The Patriots kept up their intensity as Saldivar and Little both put shots on frame over the next ten minutes play.  Lisa Skoldage and Nicole Araujo combined for a trio of shots of frame, but were turned away as UC earned the 2-0 win.

Cumberlands will close out the regular season on Saturday, October 24th, when they travel to Henderson, TN to face Freed-Hardeman.  Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
